History
On June 10, 1980, Mrs. Mouzelard purchased a Mini-Matic from Leyland Garage ETIENNE in Belgium. It was an Ermine-colored SDL Automatic for 136,762 Belgian francs (equivalent to 3390.62 euros). She, a teacher from Brussels, bought it at age 50 for weekend excursions to her residence in the Ardennes because she had never driven it before. Despite its age, the Mini’s low mileage indicates recreational use and shopping.

Ms. Mouzelard meticulously documented all maintenance and insurance paperwork, including encounters with collection agencies who wanted 184.67 euros. In 2008, a minor engine problem caused the car to sit in a barn for more than 15 years.

After her death, her niece inherited the well-preserved Mini on Aug. 29, 2016. In 2021, she sold it to her brother for a symbolic 500 euros. Now being restored at Brooks Motors, the Mini’s storied history begins a new chapter.
