The Mini Dolomiti

This classic Innocenti Mini has been christened “The Mini Dolomiti,” a name that will be remembered from a brutal, yet unforgettable, trek across the Italian Dolomites we’ve done right before we picked up this Mini Dolomiti. This Mini has to embody exactly the same spirit; raw, unpredictable, overwhelming strength covered by an absolutely astonishing beauty that will never get boring.

The Genesis: Survival on Trail 320

It’s Trail 320 that Mini Dolomiti is shaped after. This trail in the dolomiti mountains, better known as the alps of Italy, lays at roughly 10.000 feet / 3000 meters hight. After wandering through the mountains for a few days, sleeping in mountains shelters, we’ve reached the hardest part of our trek. We knew it would be a hard day, crossing glaciers, having almost invisible paths over rock formations with only the simple red-white-red trail markers keeping us on route. Right at afternoon we were ambushed by an impenetrable fog, howling wind and oh yes, freezing rain. It got so foggy that when we reached a glacier, we took on our Ice-Spike shoes and continued our route. Suprisingly this glacier was allready over after only 3 steps, visibility was basically non-existent. legs were absolutely soured and hands tingling from the cold.

“I Think I Can”
I’ve never had done such a trek before, but during those conditions you lean entirely on your own willpower and resilience. That feeling that you don’t know what is going to happen but you’ve got to go through, make no mistakes, focused on your goal. having confidence in all that is underneath your brain. It’s confidence born from desperation; “I’ve never done that before, but I think I can”

This is the exact spirit we’re embodying into Mini Dolomiti, She’s going to have some unique touches we’ve never made reality before here at Brooks.

What is Mini Dolomiti about?
First of all, we’re branding this Mini with that same trail marker!  Red-white-red with 320 in the middle, and we won’t do it subtle this time around. The engine is upgraded towards a 1275cc A+ one, and ofcourse carburated as should. Disk brakes, externally mounted oil cooler to breath in the cold mountain breeze and some new lightweight rims with performance tyres to give all the gripp needed on a good gravel path. allthough she’s getting a bit rough in the looks we want to give the luxury finish of the orignal Innocenti Mini’s in the interior.
There’s still so much more still to configure before she’s done but hopefully you get the vibe. One thing is for sure; she’ll still have that candlelight glow from the headlamps, preferably yellow lights, that ensures you still won’t see a hand in front of you when it is foggy, A witty nod to our 10.000 feet adventure ;)

The Perfect Basis
The foundation is solid like a rock: a beautiful, rare Innocenti Mini Mk3 from 71’. Originally deliverd into the main city of Italy, Rome, as seen by its authentic license plates. The car is given to a family member int he south of italy where she’s been repainted about 10 years ago. Though little used recently, it has always been stored indoors, preserving its classic charm and keeping the body so preserved for her next phase; ready to head into The Dolomites.
