What seats do you need?

COBRA bucket seats (known as ‘Classic RS’ or ‘Stelvio’) ~ €600,-

Available at CobraSeatsShop in a wide range of colours and possibilities, you can even enquiry a full interior for your Mini. They do offer them with a seating base. The seating base used by COBRA are BAD for your mini, the points are way to sharp and will ruin your carpet, the seat hight isn’t adjustable.

Universal bucket seats ( known as ‘AutoStyle’, ‘FK-sport’, ‘QSP’ or ‘H-gear’) ~ €300,-
– W x L of 285 x 275 mm
These universal bucket seats are widely available on the internet and are fairly good priced for what you get. There available with, and without headrest.
There getting rebranded a lot but are more or less the same, some offer them with different colours of vinyl leather etc. These seats mostly come with universal seat adjusters like these.

Both seats are quite good, but the COBRA seats stand out in terms of quality and comfort. They are definitely the better choice for your custom Brooks Build Mini Classic, especially if you’re planning to add custom upholstery. However, if you’re looking for an upgrade and are satisfied with the available options for the Universal seats, they are still a solid choice.

What slider (and base) should I use with it?

As you may know, there are many different seat sliders available. These are determined by the measurements of the seat base. Below, you’ll find a variety of options to choose from including our BROOKS Slider which is compatible with both the Cobra buckets seats and the Universal bucket seats.

At brooks we developed a seating base for both COBRA seats and the universal seat bases, as those two sizes are the ones generally on our builds. If you’re looking for another size please write us an Email and we’ll update our design.
The brooks seat bases are currently only available in the Brooks Garage and can be shipped on inquiry. We’re still busy with creating our webshop.

COBRA bucket seats base (292 x 330 mm)
COBRA offers its own slider and base for the Mini Classic, with options for models that either hook to the floor or not. At BROOKS, we’ve used this base before but weren’t entirely satisfied. The corners and the connection to the floor are too sharp, which can damage the carpet. Additionally, these bases aren’t adjustable to your preferred seat height.
Sliders for the COBRA seats could also be sold seperatly, where the ‘Classic RS’ and ‘Stelvio’ need the narrow runners of 292mm.

Universal bucket seats are supplied with Universal seat sliders like this one or two.
BROOKS is the only one currently making the seat subframes for this size of seats, other ones may seem compatible but are the wrong size and therefore need welding and adjustments to make fit.
