We found her in the far south of Italy, where on a clear day you can see the Albanian mountains across the sea. Her keeper was Francesco: a man of the Regia Marina, the Italian Navy, referee of the national boxing championships and owner of a little coffee bar called Noir on the hill of Massafra. A man with taste. Hence the colour, Bluette.
She was first sold on 19 June 74' by Emiliana Motors in Ferrara, with a Nero interior and her first free service stamped at 1.504 km. Francesco sent her to ZAMBON Autofficina in the north, a garage we know well, and nothing was spared: engine out, head, twin carbs, clutch, brakes, suspension, steering rack, all new rubbers. The engine feels sporty and still relaxed on the highway, and with the carbs wide open you hear them gasp for air. Pure fun.
We drove 725 km in her ourselves, through Italy and onto a boat in the Biesbosch. Did you know the Italian ashtrays were bigger than the English ones? Sold to Colorado, USA.
